Tuesday, March 28 Noon - 1 p.m. Koury Auditorium on the GTCC Jamestown Campus Jaki Shelton Green, ninth Poet Laureate of North Carolina appointed in 2018 and reappointed in 2021, is the first African American and third woman to hold the position. She is a 2019 Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellow, a 2014 North Carolina Literary Hall of Fame inductee, a 2009 NC Piedmont Laureate appointee, and a 2003 recipient of the North Carolina Award for Literature. Jaki Shelton Green contributed to "The Carolina Table," GTCC's 2022-2023 All-College Read selection.
