For more information on the race, contact Cindy Vernon at 841-6656.The Big Foot 5K Run is part of the 1990 Greenway Day celebration sponsored by the High Point Greenway Task Force and the High Point Parks and Recreation Department. The name ``Big Foot' is from the task force's motto of building the greenway system one foot at a time.
The task force has been selling one-foot sections of the greenway for $25 for the past several years. All proceeds from the race will be combined to buy one ``big foot' for High Point's system.
Other events scheduled for Greenway Day are a bicycle rodeo; a ``Tour de Greenway,' a supervised bike ride for kids, and a household pet show. During the day there will be entertainment from area bands, a Tae Kwon Do demonstration and cloggers. Also area crafters will be selling their goods in the park.
