TWO APPOINTED TO RED CROSS OF GREENSBORO

George S. Koontz and Duncan Hutchinson have recently been appointed to the Greensboro chapter of the American Red Cross.

Koontz is serving as executive director of the Greensboro chapter. He formerly served as Red Cross manager of the western North Carolina territory and was involved in the hurricane Hugo relief effort in the Charlotte area. He earned a bachelor of science degree from East Tennessee State University and is a graduate of the National Instructor Training Institute-Breech Academy in Kansas City, Mo.Hutchinson will serve as director of Emergency Services. He formerly worked for the United States National Park Service as park technician at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park. He has served the Red Cross as a Disaster Services volunteer, trainer and consultant since 1983. He earned his bachelor of science degree from Western Carolina University.
