'BLACK WRITERS SPEAK' SHOW GETS FUNDING

The North Carolina Writers' Network has received a grant of $3,500 from American Express to support its ``Black Writers Speak' program in April.

The program will be held in Kinston, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Durham and Fayetteville and will feature readings by the five winners of NCWN's 1989 Black Writers Competition.
