Beth David Synagogue is hosting the Israeli Scout Caravan — a group of 10 selected youth performers bringing Israeli culture, music and dance, as well as a message of peace, to American cities.
The uptempo free event is 7 p.m., Wednesday at Beth David Synagogue’s Social Hall, 804 Winview Drive. It is open to the public.

The Scouts go through a highly competitive selection process and are chosen based on their maturity, fluency in English, and performance skills. Hundreds of young people compete annually for one of the spots.
Selected teens also train with professionals for a year. Four troupes of Scouts travel the United States and Canada during the summer, while staying with host families. To date, the group traveling here has performed in New York, Connecticut, Washington, D.C.
The event is sponsored annually by the Beth David Men’s Club and has been popular with youth organizations, local churches, and young musicians and performers.
