COACH FACES DRUG CHARGES

The track coach at Independence High School has been arrested on drug charges after police said they found two grams of cocaine in his car at the school.

Jeryl Todd, 38, was arrested at his home Tuesday afternoon.Mecklenburg County police went to the school on Monday after receiving an anonymous tip, spokesman Chipp Bailey said.

In 1985, Todd led his team to a 4A state championship.
