STORRS, Conn. - Chris Smith hit a 15-foot jump shot from the right baseline at the buzzer to give Connecticut a 62-60 overtime victory over Seton Hall in the Big East.Smith missed with three seconds left, but got the ball back and made the game-winner. Scott Burrell ripped the ball from Anthony Avent's hands with 42 seconds left to set up Connecticut's final possession.

Connecticut improved to 17-9 and 8-7 in the Big East, soldifying its NCAA tournament hopes. No Big East team with eight conference wins has ever failed to earn an NCAA berth.

The loss ended a five-game winning streak for the Pirates (18-7, 8-7) and dropped them into a tie for fourth place with Connecticut and Georgetown.
