CONTRAS WON'T SURRENDER

The Contra commander-in-chief Thursday declared that his fighters would not surrender their weapons until the Sandinista army chief resigns.

The commander, Israel Galeano Cornejo, said that he hoped to begin negotiations with President Violeta Chamorro's new government to arrange for Sandinista Gen. Humberto Ortega's departure.``We are going to wait this out, forever if necessary,' said Galeano.
