COTTON MILL SQUARE SEES GROWTH SPURT

Four new stores have moved into The Cotton Mill Square in Greensboro, and an existing store has expanded.

The four new stores are:

Shoe Market Samples, a shoe store that carries designer shoes in sample sizes for men and women, is located on the lower level of the mall. Women's sample sizes are 5 1/2 to 6 1/2, and men's sizes are 7 1/2 to 8 1/2. The store sells lines such as Cole Haan, Enzo Angiolini, Sebago, Rockport, Van Eli, Rangoni and Sesto Meucci. Perry Calhoun owns the store.Designs Flora, located on the upper level, specializes in fresh, silk and dried floral arrangements, antiques and decorative accessories. Barry Stoneking, the owner, offers seminars on decorating for weddings at the store.

Nail Essentials, a nail salon owned by Tai Tran, opened on the main level.

$1 to $10 Store, which opened on the main level, specializes in housewares, kitchen gadgets, party favors and other novelty items priced under $10.

The Carolina Collection, an antique and accessory store, has taken over two other store locations on the upper level. The shop's main gallery on the same floor will remain open.

The shopping mall, which is a renovated cotton mill, is located at the corner of Spring Garden Street and Merritt Drive.

Dakota Stevens, 27, was found unresponsive but breathing inside a holding cell about 4:15 p.m. on Monday, the Guilford County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Detention and medical staff started life-saving measures and EMS arrived about 4:25 p.m. to take Stevens to High Point Medical Center. He was later transferred to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem where he died about 4:10 a.m. Tuesday, the sheriff's office said.
