Donnie Davis threw for four touchdowns and Burlington Cummings' defense throttled Central Davidson in a 36-0 season-opening win for the Cavaliers Friday night.

After Cummings scored on a safety in the first quarter, the Cavaliers poured four touchdowns across in the second period. Davis threw TD passes of 6 and 31 yards to Mandrell Reaves and one of 44 yards to Maurice Mebane. Mebane scored on a 2-yard run to close out the scoring in the first half.The only scoring in the second half came on a 1-yard pass from Davis to Chris Miles.

The Cummings defense held Central to a pair of first downs and seven total yards. The Cavaliers had 14 plays for minus yardage. Reaves blocked a pair of punts, including one for a safety.
