Regarding your article (May 13) about state employees taking a pay cut. I feel like it is 10 years late. The taxpayers are at the bottom of the scale, while we have some of the highest paid state bureaucrats at the top of the scale.
It is the same in the county government. Former Guilford County Manager John Witherspoon was making $98,000 per year with Guilford County. He tried to get a position in Rockingham County at about half the pay. What is going on? The taxpayers in Guilford were getting ripped off or the Rockingham taxpayers would sure have gotten a bargain.\ Carlton Roberson\ Greensboro
