Forty-eight wrestling teams from across North Carolina will converge on three area sites today as the state dual team championships continue their second running.
High Point Andrews will head into the Class 3-A championships at Eden Morehead trying to continue an unparalleled tradition. The Red Raiders won their fourth straight state individual tournament title last year and followed it up with a title in the inaugural dual team championships.The Red Raiders face Havelock at 6 p.m.
First-round matches earlier this week narrowed 32-team playoff brackets to 16. Second-round matches are scheduled for tonight; quarterfinals, semifinals and championships follow Saturday.
In the 4-A meet at Grimsley, defending champion East Gaston will carry a 16-0 record into its match with Hickory at 8.
In the 1-A / 2-A meet at Ledford, Dixon continues its title defense against East Davidson at 4:30.
