A woman accused of embezzling nearly $134,000 from her employer was released on $20,000 bond Tuesday night.

Julia Hedgecock Prevette, 40, of 204 Jill Drive, Trinity, left the High Point jail about 9 p.m., three hours after she surrendered to police.Because of incorrect information provided by the jail, the amount of her bond was reported as $2,000 in Wednesday's News & Record.

Prevette was charged with embezzling money from Country Furniture, where she was corporate secretary from 1986 until June 1990.

A woman who identified herself as Prevette's daughter said Wednesday that Prevette would have no comment on the charges.
