EXPERT ON CHIMPS WILL VISIT N.C. ZOO

Jane Goodall, the world's foremost authority on chimpanzees, will visit the North Carolina Zoological Park today in connection with chimpanzee research and conservation projects at the zoo.

Since 1985, the N.C. Zoo has participated in ``Project: ChimpanZoo,' a cross-cultural behavior study of chimpanzees coordinated by The Jane Goodall Institute in Tucson, Ariz.Last September, the American Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums selected the N.C. Zoo as the lead institution for the new Chimpanzee Species Survival Plan.

Goodall is making her annual visit to the N.C. Zoo to discuss these two projects and to visit with zoo employees.
