MISS KAYLA LAUETT BOWEN\ HIGH POINT - Miss Kayla Lauett Bowen, infant daughter of Roger Kevin and Tamera Baxley Bowen of 533 Flint Ave., died Oct. 5, 1992, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Floral Garden Park.Surviving are parents, Roger Kevin and Tamera Baxley Bowen; sister, Miss Melissa Crubb of the home; grandparents, Mrs. Merle McDaniel, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McDaniel, all of High Point, Ms. Betty Baxley of Sophia.

The family will be at Cumby Mortuary in Archdale 7-9 tonight.\

MYRTLE W. BRUNSON

Mrs. Myrtle Wrenn Brunson, of 1105 Ogden St. died Oct. 2, 1992, at her home.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Brown's Funeral Home.\

HERMAN R. CANADY

STOKESDALE - Herman Ray Canady, 75, of Stokesdale died Oct. 5, 1992, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral plans are incomplete at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton.\

FITZGERALD FUNERAL

Funeral for Walter Fitzgerald of 1903 Albany St., who died Oct. 2, 1992, will be at 7 p.m. today at Mount Zion United Church of God, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

A native of Guilford County, he was retired from Cone Mills. He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of men's Sunday school class at his church, chairman of the deacon board at his church and a teacher of the Monday night Bible study at his church.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Eva Burnett Fitzgerald; brothers, Mitchell Fitzgerald, Amos Fitzgerald, Robert Fitzgerald, Claude Fitzgerald, all of Greensboro, Charlie Fitzgerald of Harrisburg, Pa.; sisters, Christine Fitzgerald of Greensboro, Sarah Bynum of Homestead, Pa.

Smith-Hinnant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.\

MELVIN G. GRIFFIN

STOKESDALE - Melvin G. Griffin, 91, of 910 Griffin Road died Oct. 5, 1992, at Wesley Long Community Hospital.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Sardis Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Forsyth County, he was a retired farmer and a Presbyterian.

Surviving are wife, Louise T. Griffin; sons, Melvin G. Griffin Jr., Lincoln H. Griffin, both of Madison, J. Henry Griffin of Stokesdale; daughters, Darnetta Nance of Eden, Ilena Yates of Mayodan, Notral Whittaker of Margate City, N.J.; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Colonial Funeral Home 7-9 tonight.\

WADE A. KIRKMAN SR.

PLEASANT GARDEN - Wade A. Kirkman Sr., 76, of 2304 Nazerene Church Road died Oct. 5, 1992, at Wesley Long Community Hospital.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Garden United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Pleasant Garden, he was a retired farmer and a World War II Army veteran. He was retired from P. Lorillard.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Blinnie P. Kirkman; son, Wade A. Kirkman of Pleasant Garden; daughter, Mrs. Trudy Smith of Pleasant Garden; one grandchild.

The family will be at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Funeral Home 7-9 tonight.

FRANK L. SANFORD JR.

Frank Lyndon Sanford Jr., 71, of 125-C Village Lane died Oct. 5, 1992, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Forbis & Dick North Guilford Chapel Funeral Home.\

WILLIAM F. SPOONE

HIGH POINT - William Floyd Spoone, 72, of 1113 Sharon St. died Oct. 3, 1992, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Private burial will be at the Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain.

A High Point native, he was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired laundry truck driver.

Surviving are sons, John Spoone of home, Richard Spoone of Thomasville; daughter, Mary Reid of High Point; sister, Katherine Willett of High Point; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of son, Richard Spoone, 108 Conrad St., Thomasville 7-9 tonight, or at the home of Mitzi Hensley, 1802 Waldo St., High Point 7-9 tonight.

MISS MARY EDITH TALLEY

Miss Mary Edith Talley, 80, of N.W. 4545 Connecticut Ave., Washington, D.C., died Oct. 3, 1992, at Sibley Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church cemetery in Mount Airy.

A native of Surry County, she was a retired secretary for the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., a Lutheran and a homemaker.

Surviving are sisters, Miss Maude Talley, Miss Frances Talley, Mrs. Ruth Shope, all of Greensboro; brothers, Charles Odas Talley of La Mesa, Calif., William Talley of Marietta, Ga., Robert Talley of Knightdale.

The family will be at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

MRS. DARLENE VINES

Mrs. Darlene Vines of 1102 Gorrell St. died Oct. 5, 1992, at her home.

Funeral plans are incomplete at Smith-Hinnant Funeral Home.\

WALKER FUNERAL

Funeral for Mrs. Daisy Rollins Walker of 1209 Stephens St., who died Oct. 3, 1992, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel A.M.E. Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Gardens in Mebane.

A native of Sanford, she was a retired secretary from N.C. A&T.

Surviving are husband, P. Mack Walker; daughters, Gilda W. Mendenhall, Donna W. Morris, both of Greensboro; sons, Vance A. Walker, Kevin C. Walker, both of Greensboro; five grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 12:30-1 p.m. today.

WALKER FUNERAL

HIGH POINT - Funeral for Timothy ``Speedy' Ray Walker, 26, of 303 Cedar St., who died Oct. 4, 1992, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Street Church of God. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.

He was a native of High Point.

Surviving are mother, Brenda K. Walker of the home; brother, Brian Walker of High Point; sisters, Leslie Walker, Tonya Walker, Angela Walker, Bettye Walker, all of High Point.

The family will be at the church 2:30-3 p.m. Thursday.

Hargett Funeral Home in High Point is in charge of arrangements.
