KIRSCHNER GETS GRANT

Kristen Kirschner of Summerfield has been selected as a Presidential Scholar at Gardner-Webb University.

The award is valued at more than $7,100 and covers 80 percent tuition. It is renewable for four years while the recipient is a full-time, undergraduate student in the regular day program.Three other local students have been selected as University Scholars at Gardner-Webb University.

Kenneth Holbrook Jr. and Matthew Evans, both of Greensboro, and Kimberly Tatum of Browns Summit, chosen based on academic and extracurricular merit, and an interview.

The $3,000 award is renewable for four years while the recipient is a full-time, undergraduate student in the regular day program.
