LANDLORD HELD FOR BAD PIPES

A judge in Forsyth District Court jailed a local landlord until he obeyed a court order to repair water pipes in a rental house to bring it up to the city's minimum standard for human habitation.

Judge Margaret Sharpe held Larry Habegger, a former lawyer from Davie County, in contempt for failing to repair massive water leaks at a Winston-Salem house.He was taken in custody about 11 a.m and released about 6:30 p.m., on Sharpe's order, after the leaks were repaired.
