LAWMAKER WILL RESIGN SEAT

State Sen. Wanda Hunt, a Moore County Democrat who took job in the administration of Gov. Jim Martin, a Republican, said Wednesday she'll resign her seat, but didn't say when.

``My resignation will be effective upon completion of my obligations and responsibilities pertaining to the 1989 Senate session,' Hunt said at a news conference.She said the obligations include serving on study commissions, answering correspondence and fulfilling speaking engagements.
