Firefighters spent two hours battling a Monday night blaze that engulfed an old Coca-Cola bottling plant in Lexington.
There were no injuries. The fire started about 5:16 p.m. and was fully involved when firefighters arrived, said Chief William Deal of the Lexington Fire Department.
He said the plant had been used to store furniture from a store next door.
Although the fire was extinguished, officials were still on the scene at 9:40 p.m. Monday mopping up hot spots.
Officials have not determined how the fire started.
The investigation is continuing.
``The contents in the building are a total loss,' Deal said. ``But the original structure itself survived the fire.'
Deal said two adjoining parts of the building were damaged by the blaze.
Officials don't have a damage estimate.
