Granite Development Corp., a Mount Airy company, is building a shopping center on N.C. 14 in Eden. According to Tim Dockery, spokesman for Granite Development, the 140,000-square-foot center will have a Wal-Mart as its anchor, a Food Lion grocery store and 25,000 square feet of retail shops. The shopping center will cost $5 million to $6 million; construction started in April. The Wal-Mart is scheduled to open in early 1991.
