A 20-year-old Fayetteville man was killed in a convenience store parking lot Wednesday when another man ran over him with a car after a fight, police said.

The men apparently were friends and arrived in the same car, according to Fayetteville Police Lt. Frank Vlasak. The men did not enter the store. They fought in the parking lot before the man was run over, Vlasak said.

Minutes after the fight, police arrested Christopher Waitsel Hill, 20, of Fayetteville, a member of the 112th Signal Battalion at Fort Bragg.

He was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Jimmy Walker, 20, also of Fayetteville, Vlasak said.

Walker suffered chest and head injuries, a broken neck, a broken pelvis, and broken arms and legs.
