The Mental Health Association in Greensboro will offer its Mental Health First Aid course from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the Dorothy Bardolph Building, Board Room #1, second floor, 301 E. Washington St. in Greensboro.
The training certification course teaches participants a five-step action plan to assess a situation, select and implement interventions and secure appropriate care for the individual. The certification program introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact, and gives overviews of common treatments.

Burlington City Park to open rides Saturday
The Burlington City Park amusement rides will open for the spring season Saturday, weather permitting.
Rides include the Historic Dentzel Carousel, train, planes, boats, and cars.
March hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 7 p.m. Sundays. The cost is $1 per ride or a book of 10 tickets for $8.
