MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE PLANNED FOR NOV. 15

Big bucks and hot merchandise are up for grabs for participants in the inaugural Wild Turkey Fat Tire Festival.

The day-long series of mountain-bike races will be held Sunday, Nov. 15 at Greensboro Country Park.Pro and amateur riders will compete for a purse of more than $10,000 in cash and prizes.

Free T-shirts, food and drinks will be given to the first 150 participants to register. Registration deadline is Nov. 9.

A variety of competitive divisions will be offered.

They are listed, along with their starting times and entry fees, as follows: 10 a.m. - beginner men, $25 entry fee; 10:30 a.m. - veterans 35-over, $20; 11:30 a.m. - expert women, $25; 11:35 a.m. - sport women, $20; 11:40 a.m. - beginner women, $20; 1 p.m. - kids ages 6-10, $5; 1:10 p.m. - kids ages 11-14, $5; 1:30 p.m. - expert men, $30; 2:30 p.m. - sport men, $25.

Registration forms are available at both Cycles de Oro bike shops.
