A Randolph County teenager charged with murder was released Tuesday from the county jail after posting a $5,000 security bond.

James David Presnell, 16, of Route 9, High Point, will appear Feb. 23 in Randolph District Court for a probable-cause hearing.Presnell was charged with shooting George Allen Bentley in the back after family members claim the 29-year-old Bentley threatened to kill his girlfriend, Linda Presnell, and their 2-month-old daughter, Lauren Nicole.

Family members said Bentley barged into a mobile home in north Randolph County and assaulted Linda Presnell and her brother, James David, during a cocaine rage.
