Candidates won't be able to file for office Thursday in Rockingham County or at the state Board of Elections office.
Government offices will be closed due to inclement weather, Tina Cardwell, Rockingham's elections director, said in a news release. Candidate filing will resume at the Board of Elections on the first day and time the office is back open for business following the inclement weather closing, she said.
The state board said on its website it also is closed due to the bad weather and that filing will resume once offices reopen.
Guilford's status for Thursday was not immediately clear. A notice on the county board's website indicated a decision on Thursday had not been made.
Anyone who needs assistance or is filing for office is asked to call 641-3836 before going to the Guilford office.
