REIDSVILLE — Only one southbound lane of U.S. 29 is open in Rockingham County after a tractor-trailer caught fire this morning.

The tractor-trailer fire is at Benaja Road in Reidsville, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation.

It's not clear when all lanes of the interstate will re-open. The fire happened before 5 a.m.

To detour around the wreck N.C. DOT suggests drivers turn left onto N.C. 87 east toward Camel Road, then turn right onto N.C. 150 west. Continue on N.C. 150 West to get back onto U.S. 29.
