HIGH POINT — A postal worker was injured Saturday when a pickup truck struck her mail vehicle, according to police.
Police were called to the intersection of Wise Avenue and Pershing Street at 12:25 p.m. Lt. C.R. Johnson Jr. said the postal worker was making a U-turn at the intersection when a pickup truck traveling east on Wise Avenue struck her vehicle. She was ejected from the vehicle, Johnson said.
Johnson did not have the woman's name on Saturday night, but said she was taken to High Point Regional Medical Center and then immediately transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Her condition was unknown late Saturday night.
Johnson also did not have the name of the pickup truck driver, but said a preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed.
