T.D. Jakes

GREENSBORO — N.C. A&T will bring T.D. Jakes to campus April 11.

The university announced Monday that tickets for the spring event in the Chancellor's Speaker Series will be available Feb. 25.

Jakes is a pastor and entrepreneur who has written more than 40 books, produced nine films and serves as bishop of The Potter's House, a non-denominational megachurch in Dallas with 30,000 members whose services are watched online by millions each Sunday.

In 40 years in the ministry, Jakes has made thousands of sermons and speeches, led humanitarian efforts around the world and been recognized as one of the nation's most influential religious leaders. A&T in a news release describes Jakes as a "master communicator, multidimensional businessman and international thought leader."

The event is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. in the Corbett Sports Center. A&T said it expects as many as 4,000 people to attend, so it will hold the event in its largest campus venue.
