GREENSBORO — Two people face extortion charges after they threatened to tell a man’s wife he’d been paying for sex.

Destiny Yvette Herrington, 24, of 301 Gant St., Apt. A, had been having sexual relations with the victim for money for some time, said Greensboro police spokeswoman Susan Danielsen.

“She decided to increase her price without telling him,” Danielsen said. “Her ‘manager’ told the man that if he didn’t pay the increased price, he would tell the man’s wife about the indiscretion.”

The victim notified police Thursday after the manager, Rodney Hamilton, 42, of 741 Creek Ridge Road, Apt. 201, took $60 from him at gunpoint, according to arrest warrants.

Greensboro police arrested Herrington and Hamilton on Thursday. Hamilton was released after posting $10,000 bond on charges of extortion, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Herrington is being held in the Guilford County jail on $150,000 bond. She faces charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and extortion.
