Sorority planning annual cotillion

Twenty-seven young women will be presented at the Beta Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s 37th Annual Spring Cotillion at 6 p.m. April 10 at the Sheraton Four Seasons.

The theme is “An Elite Dynasty of Pearls: Stepping Into Their Season.”

The cotillion generates scholarship funds for female high school seniors to attend post-secondary institutions of their choice.

The event is semi-formal and open to the public. Tickets are $40 and may be purchased in advance by calling 456-8929.

The chairwoman for the 2010 Cotillion is Anissa Bledsoe, and choreographers are Tonya Alexander and Jeanna Askew. Donna Braswell-Bray is president of the chapter.
