OAKWOOD HOMES EXPANDS INTO MIDWEST

Oakwood Homes of Greensboro said Tuesday it had acquired Doyle Housing Corp., a Dayton, Ohio, manufactured housing retailer with 12 locations.

Doyle had been selling homes built by Schult Homes, an Oakwood subsidiary acquired in April. A statement issued by Oakwood late Tuesday afternoon did not give purchase terms.Nicholas St. George, Oakwood's president and chief executive, said the Doyle acquisition is significant because it begins ``implementation of our expansion through company-owned retail outlets into the mature and sizable Midwest market.'
