Brianna Channel Miller, 11 day old daughter of Calvin and Stephanie Renee Miller of 6738 Chartwell Drive, Virginia Beach, Va., died Sunday, August 15, 1993, at Children's Hospital of the King Dominion, Norfolk, Va.

Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Collins-Grove United Methodist Church cemetery.

Surviving in addition to her parents are, sister, Ms. Zilphia Miller; paternal grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Calvin Miller Sr. of Greensboro; paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Louise Miller of Greensboro; maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Dorothy Jeffries of Jamestown.

The family will receive friends 2:30-3 p.m. Friday at the church, other times at the home of her grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Calvin Miller Sr., 2806 Horsepenn Creek Road.

PAUL S. TEW

SILER CITY - Paul S. Tew Sr., 71, of 214 Hillbrook Blvd. died Wednesday, August 18, 1993, at Chatham Hospital.

A native of Thomasville, Mr. Tew was retired manager of Belk-Yates Company in Siler City and former co-owner of McTew's Clothing. He was an Army veteran of World War II, former member of the Siler City Lions Club, and was past president of the Siler City Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the church choir and was a deacon.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Thomasville with the Rev. Brian Reynolds officiating.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Gertrude Poole Tew; sons, Paul S. Tew Jr. of Kernersville, Jim Tew of Archdale; brother, Joe R. Tew of Thomasville; sisters, Mrs. Catherine Nail of Titusville, Fla., Mrs. Nell McPherson of Thomasville; four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 314 N. Second Ave., Siler City, N.C. 27344.

The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home.

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. - Donald K. Newman, 47, of 318 Bluff Ave., North Augusta, S.C., died Sunday, August 15, 1993.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jaranigan Cemetery.

A native of Morristown, he was employed by Carolina Steel Corp. in the Service Center Division.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Linda Newman; daughters, Mrs. Tammy Lamb of North Augusta, S.C., Marjorie Lee Newman of Morristown; sons, Daniel K. Newman of Morristown, Matthew R. Newman of North Augusta, S.C.; father, Mr. A.K. Newman of Morristown; sister, Mrs. Patricia Ann Burris of Morristown; two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at Mayes Mortuary, Morristown, Tenn.

ASHEBORO - Quinton R. Caviness, 72, of 1454 Sunset Ave. died Tuesday, August 17, 1993.

CAROLYN K. BROWN

SILER CITY - Mrs. Carolyn Kelly Brown, 69, of Pine Lake Drive died Wednesday, August 18, 1993, at Duke Medical Center, Durham.

Born in Monticello, Ga., Mrs. Brown graduated from Hendersonville High School, the Junior College of Augusta, Georgia, and the University of Georgia. She was a retired social worker with the Department of Social Services in Chatham and Lee Counties, and was a former teacher at Paul Braxton Elementary School. As a member of the First United Methodist Church, she served on the Administrative Board. She was a member of the Siler City Garden Club, the Art for Chatham Hospital Committee, the Money Makers Investment Club, and a volunteer with the Chatham County Together program.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eddie Barber and the Rev. Travis Owen officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shepherd Memorial Park, Hendersonville.

Surviving are husband, John Jones Brown Jr.; sons, William Prather Brown of Cary, John Barron Brown of Grapevine, Texas; daughter, Gladys Lee Brown of Buffalo Lake; sisters, Mrs. Henry Wood of Hendersonville, Mrs. Albert V. Gary, both of Augusta, Ga.; grandsons, Shane Barron Brown, William Ryan Brown, both of Grapevine, Texas, and Gregory Aaron Brown of Cary.

The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at the home.

GLADYS S. ROGERS

HIGH POINT - Mrs. Gladys Streetman Rogers, 75, of 507 Hawthorne St. died at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 1993, at High Point Regional Hospital.

The daughter of Winfield and Minnie Walker Saunders, she was born Sept. 7, 1917 in Hampstead. A resident of High Point since 1957, she was employed by Adams-Millis Corporation for several years. She later worked with the Soda Shop at High Point Regional Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Ideal Sunday School class. On Feb. 2, 1983, she was married to Eldridge Streetman who died in 1980.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Griffith of High Point; sons, Jerry Streetman of Kernersville, Michael Streetman of Apopka, Fla., and Doug Streetman of High Point; sisters, Mrs. Mamie Costin of Hampstead, Mrs. Maybelle Sullivan, Mrs. Sally Harvey, and Mrs. Katie Brown, all of Thomasville; five grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Sechrest Chapel on E. Lexington Avenue by Dr. L. Lamar King. Burial will be in Holly Hill Cemetery, Thomasville.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home, other times at the home of a son, Jerry Streetman, 9360 Payne Road, Kernersville.

SALLIE A. CLARK

STUART - Mrs. Sallie Ayers Clark, 95, of Route 1 died Tuesday, August 17, 1993, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center.

Born in Patrick County June 24, 1998, the daughter of the late John M. and Emily Simmons Ayers, she was the widow of Harry Thomas Clark, who died in December of 1975.

Surviving are sons, Edwin A. Clark of Danville, John F. Clark of Route 1, Stuart, and Robert G. Clark of Bassett; daughter, Mrs. James H. (Louise) Robertson Jr. of Madison, N.C.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Crews officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight at Howell Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.

ASHEBORO - Gregory Eric Swaney, 2, of 2536 Spero Road, Randleman, died Wednesday, August 18, 1993, at High Point Regional Hospital, High Point.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Quaker Heights Friends Meeting conducted by the Rev. David Roudabush and the Rev. E. Garrell Hutton. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Randolph County.

Surviving are parents, Angela Michele Lynch and Ronald Eric Swaney; maternal grandparents, Sandra Green and Jeff Carrick of Star, Robert Lynch of Asheboro, Diana Lynch of Greensboro; paternal grandparents, Beth and Gary Hardin of Randleman, Mike and Ann Madden of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; maternal great-grandparents, Clayton and Cozette Greene of Candor, Harry and Betty Ann Lynch of Candor, Rex Marion of Asheboro; paternal great-grandparents, William and Callie Hylton of Asheboro, Rachel Davis of Sophia; maternal great-great-grandparents, Edgar Bowman of Asheboro, Anna Lee Ewing of Candor, Harry and Rose Lynch of Ithaca, N.Y.; paternal great-great-grandparents, James and Gladys Davis of Sophia. Maternal great-grandmother, Lolene Bowman of Asheboro, preceded him in death.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Friday.

MARY C. DAISY

WINSTON-SALEM - Mary Viola Cameron Daisy, 86, of Brookridge Nursing Home died Tuesday, August 17, 1993.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Highland Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Forsyth Memorial Park.

A native of Trenton, Novia Scotia, Canada, Mrs. Daisy graduated from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, with a degree in dietary science. After her marriage to the late Harold L. Daisy, she became a homemaker and mother.

Surviving are son, Judge William L. Daisy of Greensboro; half sister, Leone MacDonald of Ontario, Canada, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at Vogler's Funeral Home on Reynolda Road.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Highland Presbyterian Church Sunday School, 200 Magnolia St. Winston-Salem, N.C.

MADISON - Elizabeth R. Parcell, 91, of Britthaven Nursing Home died Wednesday, August 18, 1993.

Mr. David Jonathan Sutker, 43, of Annadale Village, Suwanee, Ga., died Wednesday, August 18, 1993, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Hebrew Cemetery.

Mr. Sutker was a native of Greensboro. He resided at Annadale Village in Suwanee, Ga.

Surviving are father, Sidney Sutker of Greensboro; sisters, Terri Zieve of Atlanta, Debra Aronson of Raleigh, and Sherri Breslow of Greensboro; brother, Martin Sutker of Cooper City, Fla.

The family will be at the home of Sherri and Alan Breslow, 4 Cascade Court.

BASSETT, Va. - Ruth Lackey Benfield, 73, of Route 6, Box 336 died Wednesday, August 18, 1993.

PITTSBORO - Ruby Martha Causey Bolejack, 79, of Pittsboro died Wednesday, August 18, 1993, at Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Guilford County and former owner and operator of the Shenandoah Restaurant, she was a member of the Pittsboro United Methodist Church.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pittsboro United Methodist Church cemetery conducted by the Rev. Benny Melvin.

Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Cathy Cash of Sanford; sons, Steve Bolejack of Cary, Don Bolejack of Pittsboro; sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Cooper of Pleasant Garden, Mrs. Ruth L. Moore of Greensboro; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

ROY JAMES WHITLEY

ASHEBORO - Roy James Whitley, 81, of 601-2 Dixon St. died Tuesday, August 17, 1993, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church conducted by Dr. John Rogers, the Rev. James B. Gibson, and the Rev. Mark Hall. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and former Sunday School teacher. A native of Greensboro, he had been a resident of Asheboro for 59 years. He was retired from Balfour Supermarket which he co-owned with the late Jim Morgan. Since his retirement, he has been employed part time with Wal-Mart of Asheboro.

Surviving are wife, Fannie Belle Phillips Whitley; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, other times at the home Mrs. Irene Morgan, 525 Ridgecrest Road.

JOHN FRANK LEMONS

TROY - John Frank Lemons, 76, of 5057 Ramseur Road, Liberty, died Tuesday, August 17, 1993, at Wesley Long Community Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Wesleyan Church conducted by Dr. Edward Lindsey and the Rev. Don Ledbetter. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Montgomery County, he was a member of the First Wesleyan Church, and a retired tool and die maker with Southern Mechanical Co. in Greensboro.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Lizzie Ledbetter Lemons; son, Danny Lemons of Sigourney, Iowa; daughter, Mrs. Linda Creed of Greensboro; brother, Charles Lemons of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Mrs. Jane Holland of High Point; three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at Pugh Funeral Home, Troy, other times at the home of Mary Ledbetter, Love Joy Road.

JOHN W. HEDRICK III

John Walter Hedrick III, 49, of 1412 Garland Drive died Sunday, August 15, 1993, at his home.

Service of remembrance will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Chapel with the Rev. Earl Gibson presiding.

A native of Greensboro, he was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy Miles Hedrick and John Walter Hedrick Jr. John was a graduate from Guilford College and was involved in sales most of his life. He also had a special love of sports, especially basketball.

Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Hedrick of Atlanta; son, Brian Hedrick of Atlanta; sister, Mrs. Nancy ``Nan' Rokusek of Hamilton, Mont.
