A pie-in-the-face fund-raiser. What fun! If you love throwing things at people, come to McDonald's on Van Buren Road in Eden on Saturday and help raise money for the Ronald McDonald House by throwing pies in the faces of some of our local elected officials. This event begins at 11 a.m. with a bake sale, face painting, dunking booth and much more in the parking lot. Beginning at 1 p.m. Mayor Phil Price, Sheriff Sam Page, state Sen. Virginia Foxx, state Rep. Wayne Sexton, City Councilman Ron Reynolds, Eden police Detective Tyrone Scales and other officials and McDonald's employees will be targets for your pies. Pies cost only $1, so just think of how many pies will be making contact with faces. Ronald McDonald will be hanging around, along with his ``Red Head' grandma, Glenda. She gets a pie, too! A lot of other events will be taking place, and the crew at McDonald's guarantees a lot of fun for a worthy cause.
