The next generation deserves better than the economic malaise we find ourselves in.

Please help me chart a better course for the next generation by enrolling a young adult in the free “Economy, Jr.” financial and business literacy game taking place this Sunday, Jan. 19., from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Deep Roots Market.

The goal is to show participants both sides of the economic coin by having some pick careers and then spend their month’s paycheck on necessities like housing, child care, groceries and more without going bankrupt while the rest operate stores selling products to cover overhead and post a profit.

This free public event is open to kids 11 years old and up with registration at economyjr.com that includes healthy snacks after the game.

Giving young people this essential knowledge now will help steer them past many of the financial pitfalls that have led to our current crisis and toward a better economic future for us all.
