PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia snapped Montreal's six-game winning streak when Lenny Dykstra singled home Dave Hollins from first base with two outs in the 12th inning to beat the Expos 5-4, dropping them 5 1/2 games behind first-place Pittsburgh in the National League East. With two down, Hollins drew a walk from reliever Bill Sampen (11-7) and Dykstra lined a 2-1 pitch over the glove of right fielder Marquis Grissom. Grissom appeared to get a bad jump on the ball.

Dykstra finished 2-for-6, including a homer, and is hitting .330.
