Police responded to the 800 block of Tryon Avenue on Wednesday to investigate a possible arson. The fire caused $1,000 damage to the rear of the house. No one was injured in the fire, according to an incident report.Police arrested Ron Devon Hunt, 18, of 803-B Tryon Ave., and charged him with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree arson, two counts of injury to real property and communicating threats. He is being held in the Guilford County Detention Center in High Point under a $100,000 bond.

What happened: According to an incident report, a man called police after someone stole the rims and wheels from his car. The car was parked in the lot of an Amoco service station. The rims and wheels were valued at $2,100.

What happened: A man called police when he returned home from work and found that his apartment had been broken into. According to an incident report, the man told police that the burglar took an amplifier valued at $400, a necklace valued at $1,500, a bracelet valued at $85, a watch valued at $80 and some audiovisual equipment valued at $50.
