Western Rockingham City Schools will hold kindergarten preregistration at two locations this month.

Preregistrations will be accepted April 24-25 at Dillard Primary School on Cure Drive past Rockingham Square Shopping Center in Madison. Preregistrations will be accepted April 26 at Stoneville School, located on Stone Street in Stoneville.Registration hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parents should bring the child's birth certificate, immunization records and social security number. To be eligible for enrollment, a child must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 16, 1990.

Required immunizations are five DPT, four polio, one measles, one rubella and one mumps. Each child must also have a complete physical between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31. Physical forms will be provided at preregistration.

Teachers and health staff will be available to answer questions, and kindergarten classrooms will be open for visitation. Parents may bring their child; however, it is not essential since no testing will be done. Screening tests will be done in the fall when school starts.

Western Rockingham school officials request that parents preregister all eligible children to insure assignment to a class prior to the opening of school.
