The new Triad Multiple Listing Service isn't the only change in store for the Greater Greensboro Board of Realtors next week.
The board is slated to move Monday into its new office building, located on Oak Branch Drive, just off Wendover Avenue. With 9,600 square feet, the building is more than triple the size of the board's present facility on Sunset Drive.
Among its features, ``we're greatly expanding our meeting space,' Jim Irvin, the board's executive vice president, said. ``We're going from one conference room to two conference rooms plus a classroom that will seat 40, plus an activity room that is divisible into two rooms and can seat up to 230.'
The building includes a catering style kitchen. ``It's a very multi-purposed building,' Irvin said.
The facility also has seven offices available for use by board members. ``They can stop by and do anything from make a phone call, to use a computer, to browse through a book in the expanded library facilities,' Irvin said. ``They can even meet with clients there if it's convenient.'
The building was financed through board reserves and a $100 dues increase approved last year by the member Realtors. The 1,025 members pay dues annually. Dues schedules vary, but, in general, the rate went from $130 a member to $230 a member.
Irvin said the board will make the activity room available to the public for lease for various functions.
