There are very few people who have not been touched by cancer in some way or another. The article about the annual Joann Gaddy Grimes' Bike and Walk to Fight Cancer is indeed very newsworthy and supports an important cause - cancer research.
It is unfortunate that the Greensboro Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society's National Signature Event, has not received the same amount of media coverage. It is being held this weekend, May 17-18, at Page High School. The more than 1,000 participants will include several hundred survivors, their families and friends and many concerned others.I urge everyone to call the American Cancer Society at (336) 834-0844 for information on how to join this community event to fight cancer. The Survivors' Ceremony opens the relay at 6 p.m. Friday.\ Susan Eubanks\ Greensboro\
