The first work of art won't go on sale until Jan. 22, but already some of the restaurants donating food to the upcoming Artists for Choice fund-raising show in Greensboro are feeling the heat from anti-abortion advocates.
Proceeds from the show - held by some Greensboro artists - will go to Planned Parenthood, the state chapter of the National Abortion Rights Action League and the National Organization for Women.Managers at three local restaurants said they had received calls complaining about their intent to provide food to the show, scheduled to open at the Sunset Cafe Jan. 22, the 17th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision that legalized abortion.
One of the restaurants received numerous calls, some that included threats.
