ASHEBORO - Dennis Setzer of Newton won the Jewelry Exchange 350 Late Model race at Caraway Speedway on Saturday, holding off Tony Hulin of Thomasville.

Dee Campbell of Liberty beat Gene Kepley of Lexington to the flag in the 30-lap Limited Stock; Charles Sweatt of Randleman won the 20-lap Pure Stock over Mike Fagg of Troy; and Stephen Grimes of Siler City captured the 15-lap Baby Grand Stock event over Destry Gardner of Asheboro.

Beggarly, Lloyd triumph ROUGEMONT - Barry Beggarly and Gary Lloyd each picked up Late Model Stock Car wins during the Rick Hendrick Performance Chevrolet 200 at Orange County Speedway on Saturday.Maurice Hill captured the points championship for the season by finishing second in one race and third in the other.

Tim Ferguson, Adam Miller and Donald Brooks won other Orange County Speedway races.

UNCG women romp UNC Greensboro breezed to a 5-1 victory over Notre Dame on Sunday in a women's college soccer match.

Freshman Kerry Powell scored three goals for the Spartans, while Elizabeth Auwarter and Tracie Foels got the other scores.

UNCG raised its record to 2-1.

Wake tops Cincinnati WINSTON-SALEM - Tenth-ranked Wake Forest came from behind to defeat the University of Cincinnati 2-1 in a college soccer clash on Sunday.

Cincinnati scored 54 seconds into the match. The Deacons scored their goals in the second half with Raimo deVries tying the game on a penalty kick and John Duguid got the winner on a rebound.
