Coach: Roy Williams (554-133)Keep your eyes on
Ty Lawson’s minutes: Sporting an ice pack on his left wrist to go with two previous injuries, Lawson said he’s likely to split time with Quentin Thomas. If the Heels get a big lead, there’s no way Lawson should play more than 20 minutes.
Life under the boards: Tech is an entirely different rebounding team than it was a month ago. The Hokies seem to get every contested ball, and they turn enough of them into points to break scoring droughts at the right moment.
Will Graves: The redshirt freshman from Dudley High School is making the most of his opportunities. He has scored 30 points in 45 minutes of play over his past seven games.
WORTH NOTING
- UNC is 40-for-90 from 3-point range in its past seven games.
- If Tech fails to make the NCAA tournament, it will be the first team in ACC history to be excluded after going 9-7 in regular-season league play and winning its ACC tournament opener.
- The Hokies are seeking to make the NCAA field in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1985-86.
