Crawdads 4

Grasshoppers 3

Site: L.P. Frans Stadium, Hickory

Why the Grasshoppers lost: Greensboro erased an early three-run deficit, but reliever Blake Logan gave up a solo home run in the eighth inning.

Performances worth noting: 1B Viosergy Rosa and 3B Yordy Cabrera hit solo home runs for the Hoppers. ... All four Hickory runs came on homers — a two-run shot by C David Lyons and solo blasts by 3B Joey Gallo and 2B Ryan Rua.

Also worth noting: Rua’s homer was the game-winner and the only hit given up by Logan.

The big plays: After the Hoppers loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the ninth, C Michael Vaughn struck out and 2B Yeison Hernandez hit into a game-ending double play.
