Professional storyteller Joyce Grear will tell African and African-American mythical stories in a performance Friday at Greensboro College in the Hannah Brown Finch Memorial Chapel.
The actress and teacher will also offer a workshop for those interested in learning about story telling. The workshop will be at 3 p.m. It is free, as is the performance.Both events are part of the Black American Arts Festival produced by the United Arts Council of Greensboro with sponsorship from Miller Brewing Company, WQMG, American Express, the N. C. Grassroots Arts Program and the Greensboro News & Record.
Grear is known for establishing an extensive African-American arts program for the Wilmington Parks and Recreation Department. She has also appeared in several films, including ``Crimes of the Heart,' ``The Bedroom Window' and ``Collision Course.'
