SUSPECTS TOSS CASH FROM CAR

Green bills were flying on Holden Road in Greensboro Tuesday after two robbery suspects being chased by a trooper threw money and a cash register out of a car window.

The money and register were stolen from the Town and Country convenience store about 7:23 a.m. Tuesday on N.C. 311 outside Archdale, Detective Sgt. David McDade of the Randolph County Sheriff's Department said. The robbers drove away.Trooper H.B. King Jr. spotted their vehicle and followed it to Holden Road before he turned on siren and blue lights.

One of the men threw the evidence out near Smith High School, King said. A citizen collected the evidence from the roadside and gave it to police.

Luther Tollie Norris, 36, of no known address and Russell Gray, 33, of 1106 Kendall St. in High Point were charged with common law robbery and were being held at the Randolph County Jail Tuesday.
