George Young Ragsdale of Raleigh, credited with helping write the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill fight song, ``Here Comes Carolina-Lina,' died Tuesday. He was 86.
Ragsdale and two fellow members of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity won a campus contest by writing the fight song.Ragsdale had worked for 50 years as the general manager of the North Carolina office of the Union Central Life Insurance Co.
Surviving are his wife, Susan Jolly Ragsdale; three children, George Robinson Ragsdale, Janie Ragsdale Young and Frank Jolly Ragsdale; and nine grandchildren.
