WORSHOP SET FOR SPEAKERS

The Church and Synagogues Task Force of the Guilford County Coalition on Infant Mortality will hold a training workshop for individuals interested in serving on a Speakers Bureau.

The workshop will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday 29, in the fourth-floor conference room of the Family Planning/Maternity Division of the Health Department, 1100 E. Wendover Ave.

The training will include background material on infant mortality, an overview of current coalition projects, and a preview of resource materials available to speakers. A sample presentation will be given, followed by tips for effective public speaking and guidelines for outreach efforts to church organizations.Once trained, members of the Speakers Bureau will be responsible for presentations to church groups on how to become involved in solutions to the problem of infant mortality.
