RALEIGH – Message boards were buzzing with anticipation all week long on the pending match-up between two No. 1 seeds in Reidsville and Clinton in the 2023 2A NCHSAA state championship game. Word on the street was Clinton was too big, too tough—and that the Rams were going to be outmatched. But it was Reidsville that played like titans on the day as they rolled to a convincing 28-18 victory in a game they never trailed over the Dark Horses to claim the state title at Carter-Finley Stadium Saturday afternoon.
