Step into Giving – Holiday Shoe Drive, presented by Greensboro’s The Shoe Market, is raising funds and collecting used shoes in support of the local Salvation Army. You can participate by making a monetary donation of any amount or by donating gently worn footwear.

Local initiative gives back to the community
“This is the third year we’ve participated in a holiday fundraiser so we can give back to our community,” said Perry Calhoun, president of The Shoe Market. “It’s so important to us to support the community that keeps us in business. We want to do what we can to take care of the people who take care of us.”
The Salvation Army provides food, shelter, clothing and financial assistance as well as disaster response services to those in need in the community. “The Salvation Army is an organization everyone can support, and all your donations stay local,” Calhoun said.
Give and receive
To participate in Step into Giving, come into The Shoe Market between Dec. 1 and 17. You can simply donate or add your donation to a credit card transaction, or bring in unwanted, gently used footwear.
As an extra incentive to donate, for every $5 donation or for each pair of donated footwear, customers will be given an entry into a raffle for a $250 The Shoe Market gift card.
“Step into Giving is a win-win, encouraging people to help others in our community with the chance to win a bonus for their Christmas shopping,” Calhoun said.
