The City of Statesville is alerting citizens to a major N.C. Department of Transportation project that will significantly affect traffic and daily commutes in the area.

Constructing sidewalks and ADA-compliant crosswalks to improve safety, accessibility and connectivity
Contract crews are scheduled to begin installing temporary traffic signals at the intersection on Friday, September 18, 2026. This work will continue over the next several weeks.
Drivers should expect traffic impacts throughout the project. Some overnight road closures may be necessary, and daytime lane closures may take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The contract restricts work during morning and evening rush hours.
The roundabout is expected to open in fall 2027, with all construction scheduled to be completed in spring 2028.
